Dear Friend, Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. Many of you have written in about Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I flashed back to an incredible day years ago when I brought a group of terminally ill children to his Neverland Ranch. Michael spent an entire magical day there with us. To help deal with all that has happened, I have added some helpful information about Public Grief on the site. Please take time to read about it. I hope it will be helpful in understanding why we feel such loss about people we didn’t actually know. I hope that this site will be a source of information, resources and comfort. I know from many of you, if you are here, you are facing some of the most difficult times of your life; and perhaps dealing with the unfamiliar terrain that death and grief can bring with it. My goal is to provide you with free tools and resources to help guide you through situations you may be facing. This may be a time when you feel very alone and I hope some of the information in this page can help you deal with what’s in front of you. As a writer, I believe we read to feel less alone in the world. As a healthcare professional, I believe we never feel more alone than when a loved-one is facing a life challenging illness or has died. On the left-hand side of the page, you will find many different areas to help you navigate. You will also see other areas that I am interested in – such as script consultation, to help portray life more realistically on TV and film; as well as adoption, another area that is near and dear to my heart. You will also find links to Amazon.com to buy my first book, “The Needs of the Dying”, as well as my second and third books – co-authored with the legendary Elisabeth Kübler-Ross – “Life Lessons” and “On Grief and Grieving”, at a discounted price. I have tried to address many crucial questions in the “Frequently Asked Questions” section; however, if you feel yourself in dire need of one of my books and can’t afford one, please let me know and I will do my best to get one to you. You may also be visiting this site for contact information about an upcoming lecture or information on my speaking for a group, university or conference you may have in mind. Whatever your reason for being here – I’m glad you came. David Kessler |
